Who are we?

We are a youth-of-color-led organization! From board, staff, interns and participants.
Our mission is to inspire young people to realize their power individually and collectively and to mentor future social justice leaders. Ages 13-30yo.

We are the leaders of today and tomorrow!

We are Black and brown youth.

We are our ancestors

wildest dreams

We are immigrants, refugees, children of the diaspora, survivors of migration and war, first gen, low income, LGBTQIA+, aspiring artists, survivors of abuse, experiencing homelessness/displacement. Despite the systems of oppression, we continue to survive. We continue to celebrate. We continue to organize. We continue to learn. We continue to build community.

Opportunities allow for leadership

"I strengthened my facilitation skills and feel more comfortable speaking in front of people and leading tough, emotional activities. I love to facilitate. I believe that its one of my strengths, and I was in charge of focusing on that for this cohort"

— Faisal Osman, Youth intern & Leader from our 2018 cohort with Metro Regional Government. Previous Board member 2017-2019

One thing we believe in is creating an ecosystem of leadership where are all able to grow into our strengths and explore all types of leadership! Faisal Osman is a prime example of how we at MA create the avenues to truly be youth led at all the levels!
